Perinatal Mental Health
Becoming a parent is one of the most exciting, meaningful, and terrifying times of any person’s life. And as the mother or birthing parent, the changes that occur in your mind, body, relationships, sense of self and purpose…they literally cannot be overstated. This time is intense and overwhelming, whether you’re going through this for the first time, or the third (or fourth, fifth, etc!). And when I say perinatal, I’m talking about folks that are currently pregnant or up to two years postpartum.
I love working with clients who are navigating this new stage of life. I became a parent in 2023, and deeply understand the impact that having a child can have on your mental health, relationships, and sense of self and purpose. I also am currently in the process of obtaining my Certificate in Perinatal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International in order to deepen my knowledge and skillset when it comes to working with my perinatal folks.
Some areas I work with perinatal clients around:
Prenatal anxiety, depression, and OCD
Birth anxiety + fear
Birth/medical trauma
Postpartum anxiety, depression, and OCD
Relationship strain due to parenting demands and changing relationship dynamics
Identity issues around mother/parent role, being a working parent, etc.
Body image issues related to pregnancy, birth, postpartum, etc.
Navigating returning to work, changing feelings about work, etc.
